Overwatch is a real-time market intelligence dashboard built for Indian equity and derivatives traders. Here's how each component works and what it gives you during a live trading session.
Unlike most market dashboards that poll data every few minutes, Overwatch uses Server-Sent Events (SSE) — a persistent HTTP connection that pushes updates to your browser the moment they become available. This means news, flow data, and price updates arrive in your dashboard within seconds of publication, not minutes.
Data is sourced from a combination of NSE/BSE official feeds, curated news publishers, and regulatory filings. All incoming news is passed through an AI classification layer that assigns impact ratings and extracts key entities before surfacing the item to you.

The central news feed aggregates articles, circulars, and announcements from 50+ sources including MoneyControl, Economic Times, Business Standard, NSE circulars, BSE announcements, RBI notices, and more. Each item is tagged with an impact rating:
HIGH — Likely market-moving (rate decisions, major corporate events, regulatory actions)
MED — Notable but moderate impact
LOW — Informational, lower immediate impact
The breadth heatmap shows all 50 Nifty constituents colored by their intraday performance. Green cells indicate advancing stocks, red cells indicate declining stocks, and cell size reflects market cap weight. This gives you a fast read on whether an index move is broad-based or driven by a few large-caps — critical context for index derivatives trades.
FII (Foreign Institutional Investor) and DII (Domestic Institutional Investor) net buy/sell figures for the cash and derivatives segments are updated as official data becomes available from NSE and SEBI. Sustained FII buying in the cash segment while the index is flat, for example, can signal institutional accumulation — context that's useful for positional setups.
Each trading day, the pre-market section summarizes overnight global cues (SGX Nifty / GIFT Nifty futures, Dow Jones, NASDAQ, crude oil, gold), key domestic events for the day (earnings announcements, ex-dividend dates, F&O expiry), and any after-hours news that might affect the open. The brief is available from 6:30 AM IST.
Configure keyword alerts to be notified via browser push notification when specific terms appear in the news feed. Useful examples: your portfolio stocks by name, "RBI", "SEBI circular", "GST", or specific sector keywords like "Pharma approval" or "Telecom spectrum". Alerts fire within seconds of a matching article being published.
The options chain view shows live OI (Open Interest), volume, and premium data for Nifty and BankNifty options across current and near-month expiries. Watch for OI build-up at specific strikes to identify support/resistance zones the market is pricing, and spot unusual CE/PE activity that might indicate directional bets by large participants.
